The Technology Teaching Partner works with the Director of Technology (DoT) and the Technology Integration Coaches (TICs), and co-ordinates with the TSC to support to enhance the learning program. He/she establishes an effective rapport with students and other staff members in all aspects of teaching and learning associated with technology.
Qualifications and Experience
A degree/diploma in education/ technology, or working towards such a qualification
1 to 2 years’ experience in working with students, in schools and educational environments
Experience in the technology field
Skills and Attributes
Previous experience with working with students in a school or educational environment/ technology division
an interest in and ability to utilize technology
an excellent level of spoken and written English
good communication and interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with students, faculty and parents
ability to work independently, orderly and precisely to meet deadlines, self-educate
ability to deal with problems tactfully and with empathy for others
ability to organize and analyze complex tasks in a systematic manner
enthusiastic, creative and committed to working with students and faculty
Possess a keen sense of responsibility, a self-starter, and ability to self- educate
support and assist TICs when co-teaching
support and assist classroom teachers when using technology with students
respond to technical ‘how-to’ requests from teachers
provide logistical support during key ‘organizational’ periods (beginning year, tech systems support, report cards, testing, etc)
help oversee the day-to-day organizational and logistical aspects of the ES & MS Maker Spaces: scheduling; room and resource organization; equipment organization and maintenance; source, purchase and organize supplies
source, purchase and organize technology supplies
support students on an individual and/or small group basis in teacher led instructional settings
supervise students as and when required ie classroom, playground etc
participate in curriculum and staff development opportunities as required
maintain a high level of professional competence through in-service education and professional growth activities.
other tasks as determined by the Director of Technology
0700 – 1530 Monday, Tuesday & Thursday
0700 – 1600 Wednesday
0700 – 1500 Friday
Infrequent work during weekends may be required.
