Teacher – Lanner House School

Lanner House Primary and Preschool, situated in the beautiful historic Boland town of Worcester, Western Cape, is actively seeking an innovative, dynamic teacher to build on our strong foundations of the past 22 years in providing high quality, English-medium independent schooling.

Reporting to:

Lanner House School Board of Governors / Principal

Requirements:

  • Relevant teaching qualification or Grade 8 Unisa/Trinity or royal schools qualification

Experience:      

  • 5 years teaching experience in an English medium school.  Teaching philosophies and methods of Charlotte Mason and Ambleside will be an advantage.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a successful record in the role of teacher within a school of standing and excellence, together with appropriate academic qualifications;
  • Be fully conversant with current trends and developments within educational fields, particularly those pertaining to independent schooling, Charlotte Mason and Ambleside
  • Have a passion for education and a vision for the future of Lanner House and the ability to share this with the community we serve;
  • Have the ability to challenge and inspire learners to live out their values;
  • Be an innovative, visionary teacher;
  • Have the skills to be part of a team in a modern schooling environment;
  • Be a member of the Christian faith who actively lives out his/her faith;
  • Be an English mother-tongue speaker or be very proficient in English; other local and foreign languages would be an advantage.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with colleagues, learners and parents;
  • Good communication skills; be humble, patient, kind and respectful;
  • A lifelong learner, have a passion for teaching and an exceptional EQ;
  • Comfortable using technology and modern teaching aids;
  • SACE registration.
