Swimming Coach/Learn to Swim Teacher

Redhill School is seeking an exceptional Swimming Coach to teach swimming and water safety to children in the Early Learning Centre and Preparatory School as well as assisting the High School coach with training.

The Position:

  • Teaching swimming techniques, swimming strokes, and water safety rules to students with varying swimming abilities.
  • Assisting more experienced swimmers to enhance their swimming abilities.
  • Assessing the progress of students and adjusting teaching programs accordingly.
  • Monitoring students to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Implementing ground rules for each swim session.
  • Planning swimming lessons taking into account students’ abilities and progressive development.
  • Identifying incorrect swimming techniques and correcting students accordingly.
  • Encourage an attitude of good sportsmanship and fair play

Professional Qualifications and Personal Qualities:

  • 3 – 5 years experience in similar role
  • Registered with SACE
  • Level 1 coaching certificate in swimming as well as the ability to coach an additional sport/academic subject will be an advantage
  • Be an enthusiastic contributor to sport education and the broader school programme
  • A collaborative, cooperative and patient mind-set
  • Strong communication skills
