SUBJECT HEAD MATHEMATICAL LITERACY
St Alban’s College, one of South Africa’s leading independent boys’ high schools, seeks to employ a Subject Head for Mathematical Literacy for a full-time position. The position is an opportunity for an educator who is extremely experienced, passionate, talented, and creative and who will foster enthusiasm for mathematical literacy and maintain a high standard of achievement.
The ideal candidate will be a teacher who is well entrenched in the IEB environment and has a proven and successful track record in teaching Mathematics
Criteria:
- An appropriate academic degree or qualification.
- Must be SACE registered.
- A passion for education and the desire to motivate and stimulate higher-order thinking.
- Excellent communication skills and classroom management.
- The use and integration of technology into the classroom is an essential criterion.
- Competence in terms of computer literacy – especially Google docs, sheets, and classroom.
- An ability to contribute to the extra-curricular program within the school would be an advantage.
- Have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Have a willingness to become involved in the life of the school.
- Be a committed, dynamic educationalist, with an innovative use of technology to enhance learning and have a practical approach to the subject.
- Be knowledgeable of current educational trends in mathematical literacy education and understanding.
- Minimum 7 Years teaching experience required.
Date of Commencement: 1 January 2025
