A rare opportunity exists at Thomas More College (High School) for an educator to apply for the position of:
SUBJECT HEAD: HIGH SCHOOL VISUAL ARTS
Starting date – 1 January 2023
The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic, innovative and future-focused Art, Design and Technology Faculty.
The successful candidate is someone who is:
possessed of the appropriate qualifications and is registered with SACE;
experienced – and has a track record of – teaching Visual Arts in a relevant, purposeful manner to empower his/her students to think critically, to be collaborators and to enhance their personal self-actualisation through the subject;
excited to work in a collaborative space with colleagues;
has a minimum of 5 years’ experience of teaching Visual Art from Grade 9-12, ideally in an IEB school;
passionate about using Visual Art as a vehicle to grow our children’s capacities for 21st Century skills, values, attitudes and dispositions;
well-versed in managing and preparing matric Visual Arts portfolios under the auspices of the IEB.
