SPORTS CO-ORDINATOR (Basketball & Netball) AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHERĀ
This is a full-time position requiring the incumbent to coach and administrate within the context of a dynamic department that covers all phases of the school, reporting to the Head of High School Sport. The incumbent must be passionate about educating and developing young people, willing to be involved in after-hours work and show initiative for new approaches.

- An appropriate professional qualification or degree in teaching.
- SACE registration is a necessity.
- Applicable experience and expertise in basketball, netball and physical education teaching.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The initiative and vision to drive the sports code.
- A genuine interest in and concern for young people.
- Enthusiasm, commitment and passion for education.
- The ability to work closely and co-operatively with colleagues.
- Good IT skills.
- The ability to uphold the ethos and values of the school.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate the development of young sports women within the context of a school sports programme.
- Facilitate and develop a programme for Physical Education lessons and be involved in the teaching thereof.
- Organise, administer and manage the designated sports programme and events.
- Plan and arrange tours and festivals.
- Plan and arrange seasonās fixtures.
- Manage designated assets and budgets.
- Ensure that the sports code is organised for each fixture. This includes:
- Team lists, calendar updates, grounds, catering, transport, first aid and subsistence and
- Control of sports equipment.
Act as an assistant organiser for the following events:
- All inter-school and inter-house galas
- All inter-school and inter-house athletics
- All inter-school and inter-house sport activities
- Results and achievements
- Ensure that all weekly sport results for High School are collated.
- Attend all practices and matches and the administration thereof.
- Ensure the coachesā co-curricular report comments are collected, checked and loaded on time.
- Administration/sporting code allocations will be at the discretion of the Head of Sport and according to the needs at the time. The School may, at its discretion, require you to perform any reasonable alternative duties.
- INVOLVEMENT IN THE SCHOOL
- Attend weekly staff meetings.
- Participate in staff development.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings or alternative forums.
- Participate in the normal operational duties within the school.
- Attend chapel and assembly.
- Exhibit professional behaviour at all times.
