SPORT ADMINISTRATOR

Commencement Date: January 2025.

The opportunity exists for a suitably qualified individual to teach at our independent, co-educational and inclusive school, amid the beautiful rural area of East Griqualand in the North Eastern region of the Eastern Cape.

We are an IEB school consisting of 3 campuses from Pre-Primary to Matric.

Experience in school sports, coaching, administration, co-ordination of the school’s sport programme in its entirety.

General subjects to teach will include Life Orientation and PET.

Expectations, Qualifications and competencies required:

  • Enthusiasm for sports and commitment to fostering a positive sports environment for young people
  • A relevant qualification from a recognised institution – minimum requirement is a degree and/or a 4-year professional teaching qualification;
  • Fully support the ethos of the school as an Anglican Church School and incorporating the school’s values into daily teaching and activities;
  • To be responsible for all duties and organisation of the sport programme for the school;
  • Computer literate and efficient;
  • Passion for children and teaching;
  • Good organisational and administrative skills;
  • Applicant should be fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Experience in an ISASA school will be advantageous;
  • Experience in sports administration and youth development through sport will be advantageous;
  • SACE and Police Clearance certification;
  • Preference will be given to local applicants from KZN and The Eastern Cape.

Key Performance Areas are:

  • Willingness to manage and oversee various sports codes at St Monica’s in The Prep and College;
  • Ability to take initiative, address challenges analyse sports programme and propose new ideas;
  • Strong communication, administration and organisational skills which include the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, meet deadline keeping;
  • Ability to adjust to changing situations and handle unexpected tasks or challenges;
  • Timeous communication (cancellations, changes of venues, postponements);
  • Transport organisation for away fixtures;
  • Accompany sports tours;
  • Arrange coaching clinics for staff;
  • Co-ordinate and organise sports festivals;
  • Sit on the school’s Senior Management Team;
  • Keep the Headmaster informed of activities and planning;
  • Confirmation of fixtures and preparation of the term calendar;
  • Play an active role in coaching throughout the year and in facilitating some PET and Life Orientation
