GIRLS’ COLLEGE

Specialist Mathematical Literacy Teacher
The Girls’ College invites applications for the abovementioned position which will be available from 1 January 2024. This is a full-time position and will require the candidate to teach Mathematical Literacy at a Grade 10 to 12 level and Mathematics at a Grade 8 to 9 level.
The requirements and responsibilities for this position
- A suitable professional qualification and a passion for the subject
- Relevant teaching qualification from a recognised institution
- Previous experience in an IEB school is an advantage
- A passion for teaching and for the young people whose learning you would be expected to inspire
- An enthusiasm for teaching students requiring extra support
- Willingness to embrace rapid changes in education and an interest and ability to integrate IT into your teaching and learning
- A sound and progressive understanding of the South African curriculum and international trends in education
- Commitment to support and guide a tutor group
- A willingness to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College as well as to participate in the broader life of the school, including extra murals
- Proof of registration with SACE
- Any staff member working within a school is required to have a sexual offender’s clearance certificate before employment can commence
