Senior School Mathematics Teacher

St Mary’s DSG aims to empower a confident yet humble persons of integrity and character to serve our nation and the world. The School invites suitably experienced candidates, who meet the criteria, to apply for the critically important role of Mathematics Teacher in the Senior School.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build a supportive and caring environment in which all students will thrive
  • Incorporate the St Mary’s DSG values into lessons
  • Demonstrate strong organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Be computer literate and able to utilise IT to enhance teaching
  • Good administrative and organisational skills
  • Willing to contribute to the wider life at the School, with the ability, skills and experience to become actively involved in the School’s co-curricular activities.
  • Work effectively within a team

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A recognised academic degree
  • SACE registration
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar teaching position, with both GETC and FET curricula
  • Strong IEB experience with assessment and moderation training will be an advantage

Functional Competencies:

  • Energetic, self-motivated, innovative and creative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop purposeful working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to contribute to a dynamic and well-established team
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural context
  • Proficient in English, with proficiency in an African language an advantage
  • Willing to support, promote and work within the Anglican ethos of the School
