Vacancy – SENIOR PHYSICAL SCIENCES TEACHER
The Position – A vacancy on the permanent, full-time staff has arisen in respect of a Senior Physical Sciences Teacher. The successful applicant is ideally expected to be able to start the post from 01 January 2025. The position is an opportunity for a talented, creative, enthusiastic and qualified Physical Sciences teacher.
The position would report to the Director of Academics and the Head of the Department. We welcome applications from qualified and experienced individuals who believe they possess the necessary skills and competencies to contribute to our successful functioning team.
We are particularly interested in finding a passionate teacher who is dedicated to the education of boys and possesses a genuine enthusiasm for the growth of the department. The potential opportunity to teach advanced curriculums in Physics and Chemistry is available within our department. We currently offer IEB Further Studies Physics and Cambridge A Level Physics and Chemistry, along with natural sciences for grades 8 to 9 and IEB Physical Sciences for grades 10 to 12.
The responsibilities of the post are focused on:
- Contributing to the team of experienced Physical Sciences teachers
- Fostering enthusiasm for Physical Sciences.
- Maintaining a high standard of pupil achievement in Physical Sciences.
- Maintaining the high profile of Physical Sciences within the school and
- Contributing to our co-curricular and pastoral care programmes
- Maintaining good relationships within the school and department
- Contribute to the offering of the IEB and International Curriculum
Qualifications and Experience – the successful candidate will be in possession of a relevant degree, have a professional teaching qualification and have experience in teaching Physical Sciences from Grade 8 – 12. I.E.B. and / or experience in leading a Physical Science Department. Experience with an international curriculum offering and teaching would be an advantage. Registration with SACE is required.
