SENIOR DEBTORS’ CONTROLLER

COMMENCEMENT DATE: 1 July 2021

SAHETI School is an independent, co-educational, English-medium school dedicated to the pursuit of excellence, whilst promoting the values and ethos of Hellenism. The school is situated in Bedfordview, Johannesburg.

We invite suitably experienced candidates to apply for the full-time position of a Senior Debtors’ Controller in our Finance department.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review of Client Credit applications and submission to management for approval.
  • Process monthly billing and recoveries for debtors, including distribution of monthly statements.
  • Manage the full debtors’ collections process according to Board and School policies on collection.
  • Perform administration duties ensuring monthly deadlines are adhered to and collection targets are met.
  • Preparation of annual audit schedules and reports.
  • Ensuring that debtors’ information is accurate and that customer profiles are maintained.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop purposeful working relationships.
  • Detail-orientated
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Commitment to confidentiality: ability to accurately enter and manage sensitive data and confidential matters.
  • Deadline-driven, with the ability to work independently, proactively and as part of a team.

Desired experience and qualification:

  • 3 year degree in finance
  • Advanced Computer literacy is essential (particularly MS Excel)
  • Minimum 5 years proven track record in debtors’ function (previous experience in a school environment will be an advantage)
  • Hands on knowledge of Ed-Admin, Pastel Evolution or similar accounting systems will be advantageous.
