SECRETARY TO THE SPACE DEPARTMENT
(Centre for Support in Psychological, Academic and Careers Education)
The Head of the Boys’ College invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who have the required skills and competencies to take on this position which is available from 1 January 2025.
The requirements for this position are:
- Previous working experience and tertiary qualification coupled with at least 3-5 years’ experience within a similar position would be preferable
- Excellent command of English (verbal and written communication) is essential
- Good planning, organizing and administrative skills, with attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and work independently at all times
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
- Computer literacy in the full Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of the iSams school database system will be advantageous
- Experience in minute taking – shorthand / speedwriting would be an advantage
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assistance in administration to the Psychologists, Academic Support Director and Careers Officer
- Managing multiple electronic diaries, screening of calls
- Performing full secretarial functions including email, typing, filing, photocopying, taking of and distribution of minutes
- Daily liaison with learners, parents, teachers and members of the public
- Assist with the organization of functions
- Assist with handling a busy switchboard and reception, when required
