School Nurse

Broadhurst Primary School is renowned for its progressive and innovative approach to education. The School caters for children from diverse cultures which is reflected in the school’s social, academic and cultural curriculum.

The School is currently seeking to appoint a full- time School Nurse from Term 3 2023. Suitably qualified and experienced applicants holding a Nursing Degree will be considered.

Basic requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years ‘experience in the nursing field
  • Must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Botswana
  • Proven broad-based nursing competency and knowledge including school nursing or community experience
  • Paediatric training or other relevant experience
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Computer Skills
  • SHE training will be an added advantage
  • Experience in Trauma will be an added advantage
  • Valid Driver’s license will be an added advantage

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Providing direct care to students and staff
  • Promoting a healthy school environment
  • Providing leadership for the provision of health services
  • Provision of screening and referral services for health conditions
  • Serving in a leadership role in the development and evaluation of School health policies
  • Liaising between the Broadhurst community and health care professionals
  • Provision of specialist support to the Learning Support Therapists
