School Clothing Shop Manager
St Alban’s College, one of South Africa’s leading independent boys’ boarding and day schools in Pretoria, seeks to employ a School Clothing Shop Manager.
- OBJECTIVE
Responsible for overall management and administration of the St Alban’s College School Shop
including the secondhand clothing and lost property. Providing outstanding customer service
and satisfaction.
- KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS/CRITICAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensure high levels of customers satisfaction through excellent service, relevant shop times
and co-ordination with school activities and/or demands - Complete store administration including stock control and sales in electronic format i.e.:
- Compiles and maintains records of quantity and value; counts stock and reconciles to
records - Compiles information and records of sales
- Prepare and submit monthly reports on inventory and sales to Finance
- Stock includes school clothes and merchandise; staff, supporter and old boys clothes
and items; sports equipment; second hand clothing; promotional materials; and essential
boarder supplies. - Management and control over lost property
- Supervise assigned support employees
- Liaise and coordinate with suppliers
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
- Report on trends and customer needs and liaise with Clothing Committee and Marketing
department - Propose innovative ideas to improve services and clothes including promoting on winter
home fixtures - Deal with all issues that arise from customers (complaints, etc.)
- Be a College brand ambassador
- Provide feedback and periodic reports to management
- Design of new school shop and facilitation of move
- COMPENTENCY REQUIREMENTS
- Matric and proven financial and/or retail experience
- Prior Experience Required and Critical Knowledge & Skills Required
- A minimum of five years retail and financial experience specifically in procurement with
inventory control an added advantage - Ability to interact and work with people
- Understanding of educational industry
- A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum
qualifications
