Organizational Description

The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls (The Academy) is a world-class educational platform for girls that is aimed at nurturing a new
generation of dynamic women leaders. This residential boarding school is in Meyerton, Gauteng Province, with just over 300 students enrolled in Grades
8 -12. Grade 12. Students write the Independent Examination Board (I.E.B.) NSC Examination.

Minimum academic requirements and experience

  • A degree in Development Studies, Education, Psychology or Social
    work or a relevant qualification;
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification will serve as an added
    advantage;
  • At least 5 years of experience in student recruitment, outreach, or a
    related field within an educational or social development context;
  • At least 3 years experience working with disadvantaged
    communities, especially in the recruitment or selection process,
    would be highly beneficial;
  • Proven experience in organising and managing recruitment
    campaigns, including outreach programs in rural and
    underprivileged areas;
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to
    meet student recruitment goals;
  • Willingness to travel extensively within South Africa during learner
    recruitment drives, particularly to rural and underprivileged areas;
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Experience in selection process design and/or knowledge of
    selection systems, tools, and assessments that are age and grade
    appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, manage and lead the entire OWLAG learner recruitment
    process;
  • Develop, implement and maintain recruitment policies and systems;
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, community
    organisations, and stakeholders to promote the Academy and attract
    potential learners;
  • Develop a recruitment strategy that uses a combination of various
    recruitment channels;
  • Conduct a regular review of the recruitment strategy to measure the
    efficacy of the selection process;
  • Take full responsibility for the implementation of the entire
    admissions procedure for new learners;
  • Budget management and reporting;
  • Compile reports for management and general reporting;
  • People management including supervision of outsourced service
    providers;
  • Ensure all recruitment activities adhere to legal, ethical, and
    institutional guidelines and standards;
  • Perform any other duties as required by your line management from
    time to time.
