 PRIDWIN PREPARATORY (JANUARY 2026)

Pridwin Preparatory School is seeking a passionate and experienced tennis professional to establish and lead a private tennis academy based on our campus.

This exciting opportunity offers the exclusive right to offer private tennis coaching to Pridwin boys and external clients, using Pridwin’s high-quality facilities. In exchange, the successful candidate will manage and coach the school’s full tennis programme, working closely with and supporting the MIC of Tennis from Grade R to Grade 7.

This is a 12-month contract, renewable annually based on performance and programme needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver private tennis coaching to internal and external clients (exclusive facility access).
  • Coach and manage all school tennis teams, including planning, practices, and match day coaching.
  • Assist the MIC of Tennis in all coordination, communication, and administration tasks.
  • Support all school tennis fixtures, festivals, and sports events.
  • Plan and run engaging internal tennis challenges to promote growth and participation.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in junior coaching and tennis programme development.

Strong technical and tactical knowledge of tennis:

  • Deep understanding of fundamentals including strokes, footwork, biomechanics.
  • Ability to correct technique and teach point construction and match strategy.

Effective communication skills:

  • Clear, age-appropriate communicator who motivates players through constructive feedback. Open and responsive in discussions with players and parents.

A player-centered coaching philosophy:

  • Focus on long-term development tailored to each player’s technical, mental, and emotional needs.

Mental coaching and motivation:

  • Builds confidence, resilience, and mental toughness. Encourages discipline, self-motivation, and a love for the game.
  • Demonstrated track record in developing competitive players (regional/national level ideal).
  • Professional certification preferred.
  • Valid police clearance and child safeguarding certification.

Commitment to professionalism and ethical coaching:

  • Reliable, punctual, and respectful on and off the court.
  • Transparent and honest in feedback and player assessment.

Passion for lifelong learning:

  • Keeps up-to-date with coaching trends and tennis science.
  • Attends workshops or CPD sessions regularly.

Strong understanding of how to work with young athletes:

  • Creates a fun, engaging environment, especially for early-stage players.
  • Effectively manages group dynamics and encourages positive peer interaction.
