Woodlands is a prominent and established co-educational, non-denominational private school located on the East Rand of Gauteng, and which caters to students from 12-months old to Grade 12. Comprising a Pre-Primary College, Junior College, and Senior College, the school currently serves approximately 1 100 students.

The College is presently inviting applications for the coveted position of Principal of the Junior College, with commencement at the beginning of the 2025 academic year.

The successful candidate will be a key brand ambassador for the College, reporting to the Board of Directors, and accordingly must be possessed of significant and relevant experience, sound decision-making abilities, strong administrative and interpersonal skills, exhibit formidable leadership and teamwork qualities and demonstrate a comfortable and harmonious alignment with the Woodlands ethos. An applicant who enjoys recognition as a leader within the private school teaching community, and who is adept at leading and overseeing high-level disciplinary matters and implementing policies and codes of conduct, as well as promoting the pastoral care of both students and staff, will be prioritised.

An experienced graduate educationalist with further degrees or diplomas in psychology, business administration, or human resources management, and relevant experience in a managerial capacity at a reputable educational institution will be favoured. A strong passion for education and maintaining and improving the College’s outstanding IEB academic standards, promoting sportsmanship and developing progressive individuals equipped to face the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is essential, together with a keen understanding of school-level sporting and cultural codes.

The preferred applicant will have the capability to manage day-to-day operations, facilities, resources and logistics, to skillfully innovate and strategise, possess a strong proficiency in information technology, marketing and social media, and will be expected to lead by example and develop and grow the College’s human capital through being a visible, inspirational, and supportive presence. A strong ability and clear strategy for collaborating with counterparts at the Pre-Primary and Senior Colleges, thereby promoting whole-College functionality and cohesiveness, is imperative.
