St Nicholas Diocesan School is an Independent, Co-ed, day and boarding, Anglican School situated in the heart of Pietermaritzburg, catering for pupils from Grade RR to Grade 12.

Principal (01 January 2022)
Have a relevant degree and teaching qualification
Be registered with SACE
Have at least ten years of teaching experience with a minimum of three at a senior management level
Be self-motivated with a passion for education and a drive to succeed
Be passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people
Have a proven track record of leadership and managerial skills
Have excellent interpersonal skills, and high emotional intelligence
Be a communicant member of the Anglican Church or the Methodist, Presbyterian or Congregational Churches, and uphold and contribute to the strong Christian life and values of the School
Responsibilities will include:
Strategic Leadership: In collaboration with the Board and the school’s management team you will be tasked with shaping a vision and conveying this vision of the school to all our stakeholders. Identify strategies that will ensure the sustainable growth of the school.
Organizational Leadership: Building inclusive practices, financial analysis, legislative compliance. HR and professional development initiatives for staff, ensuring accountability through the implementation of an effective performance appraisal system. Implementing the school’s Disciplinary policy for both staff and learners.
Instructional Leadership: Implementation of creative pedagogical strategies. Ensuring academic excellence in all phases of the school. Formative and summative assessment strategies.
Cultural Leadership: Maintaining a climate based on our strong Christian values that allows for a high level of academic achievement while ensuring that the school’s commitment to transformation and diversity remains a strategic focus in all aspects of school life. Working with and for our surrounding communities.
