Preparatory Faculty ICT Manager

We are seeking the services of a highly skilled, service-oriented and innovative ICT Manager to manage the infrastructure and technical team at our Raats and Wood Drive campuses. Applicants must be independent, meticulous, committed to their assignments, exhibit initiative and be willing to put in the necessary time to ensure continuous ICT service uptime.

The successful candidate must have at least five years experience as a Senior Support Technician with at least two years in a team  management role. Experience working in an educational environment with a client base of 100-200 staff and 600+ learners is required. Applicants must display excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills together with well-developed interpersonal, written, verbal, presentation and time management skills. The ability to work with the Secondary Faculty ICT Manager and Director of Technology Innovation on related projects is key.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma or BTech in IT or related field
  • Proficiency with support and management of MAC OS, iPad OS, Windows, Windows Server, Ubuntu Linux Server, Google Workspace and Synology
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, backups, mobile device management platforms and phone systems
  • Cloud based service management – Google and Azure
  • Proficiency in network performance monitoring, analysis and preventative maintenance
  • Website backend configuration and maintenance experience
  • Docker implementation, configuration and maintenance
  • Experience with management of School MIS Systems e.g. Ed-admin
  • Experience with external suppliers and SLA requirements
  • Assist with Technical planning and management of events and productions
  • Provision of systems training to staff and learners

Hold a Police clearance certificate:

  • cleared against the Criminal Clearance Register
  • cleared against the Child Protection Register
  • clearance against the National Register for Sex Offenders (Proof of receipt of Application)
