Specialist Netball and Waterpolo Coaches

The Diocesan School for Girls (DSG) in Makhanda is seeking passionate and experienced female Water Polo and Netball Coaches to join our dynamic sports department.

This role involves leading training sessions, preparing teams for matches, refereeing games, and accompanying teams on regional and national tours. Additionally, coaches will have the opportunity to attend subsidized coaching courses.

The position offers on-campus accommodation, all meals during the school term, and a competitive stipend. Makhanda provides a unique lifestyle, offering a vibrant community and a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of big cities. Ideal candidates will have prior coaching experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and a passion for mentoring young athletes.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Have the required skills and competencies to take on coaching roles.
  • A keen insight into the holistic development of girls through sport.
  • An ability to be flexible, innovative and embrace change.
  • Have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have sporting knowledge and coaching skills
  • Coaching and umpiring qualifications will be favourable.
  • Be commitment to working as part of an accomplished team.
  • A commitment to on-going personal and professional development as well apply for umpiring qualifications.
  • Ability to promote and embrace diversity and inclusion.
  • An awareness of the ethos of the school and a willingness to commit to co-curricular activities.
