An opportunity exists for an exceptional Piano Teacher to join the school from 1 January 2023.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Grade 8 Piano qualification
Performers or Teachers Licentiate an advantage
At least 5 years’ teaching experience
Have experience working with the ABRSM and Trinity Syllabus
Have experience teaching keyboard ensembles
Knowledge of Contemporary and Jazz piano is an advantage
Experience teaching piano from grade 0 to grade 7 an advantage
Candidates should have the following attributes:
Have a passion for teaching piano and music.
The ability to make learning enjoyable and to encourage an atmosphere of mutual respect
A deep knowledge of piano and the ability to teach across the ability range
Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
Creative problem-solving skills
A values-based approach to teaching
The intention to work according to the school’s ethos, specifications and policies
Excellent time management and organizational skills, including thorough record keeping and planning
Flexibility to work outside the timetabled school day
Duties (not an exhaustive list):
Teach individual piano lessons and keyboard ensembles from gr0 – gr7
Accompanying exam pupils and on occasion choir and/or events
Plan and teach interesting and engaging piano lessons
