Physical Science Teacher



St Alban’s College, one of South Africa’s leading independent boys’ high schools, seeks to employ a teacher of Physical Science. The position is an opportunity for a senior teacher who is extremely experienced, talented and creative and who will foster enthusiasm for Science and Technology and maintain a high standard of achievement.

The ideal candidate:

  • must be SACE registered
  • be suitably qualified and experienced in the subject, preferably with IEB Matric experience, conversant in the IEB curriculum and IEB assessment procedures
  • be prepared and enthusiastic about teaching Physical Science in the senior phase to ensure that the right candidates choose the subject in the FET phase.
  • have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • have a willingness to become fully involved in the life of the school
  • be a committed, dynamic educationalist, with an innovative use of technology to enhance learning and have a practical approach to the subject
  • be willing to work constructively and collaboratively with other members of the Science and Technology team
  • be knowledgeable of current educational trends in Physical Science education and understanding
