ORCHESTRA CONDUCTOR
St Stithians College invites applications for the abovementioned position which will be available from 17 January 2024. This is an extra-mural orchestra conducting position for students from Grade 8 – Grade 12.
The requirements for this position are:
- A suitable professional qualification and appropriate educational experience
- A degree in the appropriate subject area is a prerequisite
- The ability to conduct an orchestra at a high school level
- The conductor is responsible for the orchestra during rehearsals, performances and concerts
- The conductor will be responsible for the overall development and progression of the orchestra
- A passion and vision for music, especially within the extramural space
- A high level of organisational, administrative and communication skills
- An interest and vision for a student-centred holistic education programme
- A willingness to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College
- Any staff member working within a school is required to have a sexual offender’s clearance certificate
- Remuneration will be provided on an hourly basis
