MUSIC TEACHER:

CREATIVE ARTS (Part-time)

The Michaelhouse Music Department is looking for applications from Music Teachers in the Midlands area
who would like to offer their services taking eight class music lessons per two-week cycle for Grade 8 boys
taking Creative Arts commencing in January 2023.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

  • Have suitable academic and practical qualifications
  • Have experience teaching music to high school boys
  • Be able to teach across a variety of musical styles and genres according to the CAPS prescribed for Grade 8
  • Be passionate about teaching music in a progressive and innovative way
  • Be able to relate to Grade 8 boys to instill excitement about the subject
  • Display excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team and open to learning and using technology to record and
    report on students’ progress
  • Have the option of giving private instrumental tuition to supplement income

As this is a part-time position, this role would be best suited to someone already
resident within reasonable travelling distance of Michaelhouse.
