SAHETI School is an independent, co-educational, English-medium school dedicated to the pursuit of excellence, whilst promoting the values and ethos of Hellenism. The school is situated in Bedfordview, Johannesburg.
Applications are invited for an energetic, creative, and innovative Music subject leader (Grade 1 – 7), who meets the below listed pre-requisites.
The following are pre-requisites for this position:
Relevant degree in Music, or its equivalent
Current SACE registration
Knowledge of the CAPS class music curriculum is essential and experience in developing curricula
Proven teaching experience
Proficient piano playing skills
Understanding and practical use of ORFF Schulwerk pedagogy
Applicants must be passionate about teaching music and must instill a love for music in their students
Experience in teaching class music across all Primary School grades
Develop and manage budgets effectively
Work collaboratively and effectively with the HOD of Music and as a member of a team in a dynamic music department
Report directly to the Principal of the Primary School
usic notation software experience
Have an interest in overseeing musical ensembles, e.g. bands, marimba groups and choirs
Highly proficient IT skills
Ability to teach online synchronously
A commitment to full participation in the extra-mural activities of the school
Ability to develop and sustain new ideas and work co-operatively with a team
An ability to identify with the values, culture, and ethos of SAHETI
