The Mathematics department is a large department of highly professional teachers functioning with a strong collegial ethos. In addition to Mathematics, we offer three classes of AP Mathematics in grades 10 to 12, and A-level Mathematics and Further Mathematics in the Sixth Form programme.

We are looking to appoint an individual who:

  • Is an enthusiastic teacher with a love of Mathematics and who is able to share this passion with his or her students.
  • Has excellent and thorough content knowledge, and can deliver engaging and effective lessons as well as setting of assessments at the senior level.
  • Appreciates an enquiry-based approach to teaching Mathematics.
  • Is organised, flexible and self-motivated, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Uses technology to improve administrative efficiency and enhance the educational experience in the classroom.
  • Can demonstrate an ongoing commitment to his or her own professional development.
  • Will contribute to the endeavours and growth of the department.

Minimum requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or similar degree.
  • A minimum of five years teaching experience in the FET phase, including teaching Grade 12 Mathematics and AP Mathematics.
  • SACE registration or willingness to register.

Desirable attributes

  • A Master’s Degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education.
  • A Level Mathematics teaching experience or a willingness to pursue gaining such experience.
  • Other skills and experience that will contribute to the broader school life. Members of staff are expected to support the Christian ethos of the school.
