Locum Mathematics /Â Natural Science Teacher

Competencies:
Minimum requirements:
- 4-year B. ED or Bachelor’s degree and PGCE in the relevant subject specialisation.
- Registered with SACE.
- 3 or more years’ experience in teaching the subject.
- Police clearance certificate (not older than 3 months).
- Broad knowledge of and interest in the development and education of children.
- An Introductory course with Cambridge Assessment International.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic person of integrity and vision with a strong interpersonal skills, and will have:
- The ability to understand, identify with and contribute to the ethos and values of the school.
- A working knowledge of the Cambridge Primary International Curriculum and be in a position to be familiar with the demands of Grades 4, 5, 6, and 7 students.
- Moderating Grades 1, 2 and 3 Mathematics and Science examination papers.
- Preparing students for the Cambridge Checkpoint Examinations.
- To lay the foundation for lifelong learning; to be curious about the world around them; instil enthusiasm for learning; to gain knowledge, understanding and skills that can be applied in all other subjects.
- Assist in engaging in creative mathematical and scientific thinking.
- Improve numerical fluency and knowledge of key mathematical concepts. To make sense of numbers, patterns, shapes, measurements and data.
- the commitment to promote a very high standard of teaching and learning.
- the ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers.
- Intermediate computer skills: MS office, Internet, Outlook, school software programmes and a variety of classroom technologies.
- Strong planning, organising and reporting skills.

- Very good communication skills – oral, written and presentation.
- An awareness of the pressures on teachers, parents and learners.
