JUNIOR PRIMARY SPORTS COACHING
Thomas More College is seeking passionate and experienced Sports Coaches to join our Junior Primary team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of coaching within a school environment and possess in-depth knowledge and expertise in coaching disciplines such as Netball, Hockey, Soccer, or Cricket. This role requires a dynamic individual who can inspire young children, foster a love for sports, and contribute positively to their physical and personal development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coach and coordinate age-appropriate training practices.
- Teach, encourage, and model good sportsmanship.
- Attend and facilitate sporting fixtures.
- Coordinate and facilitate sporting fixtures and galas.
- Communicate effectively with the JP sports department.
- Provide guidance and feedback to support each child’s athletic development.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children during sports activities.
- Attending in-house training and development opportunities.
- Attending coaching meetings and social events.
• Complete administrative tasks as per the requirements of the JP and its sports department.
• Report to the Junior Primary Sports Coordinator.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Adherence to the Christian Ethos of the School.
- Experience in sports coaching in a school environment.
- Relevant coaching certifications or qualifications will be beneficial.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive sports culture.
- Patient and confident to work with Foundation Phase children.
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
- Proficient in English with good verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexible and able to solve problems creatively.
- Adhere to the school code of conduct.
