Invigilator/Reader/Scribe
Starting Date: Immediately
We are looking for people who can be available on a casual and flexible basis to invigilate tests and examinations. The role also involves aiding as scribes or readers to students who need extra support in tests/exams. You must be committed and have an enthusiastic attitude, have a strong presence in the exam room, whilst being an approachable and supportive individual, able to keep students calm in the exam environment. The main examination period is May/June and Oct./Nov. but there are other times throughout the year when invigilators are required.
The main responsibility of this role will be:
- To ensure the fair and proper conduct of exams in an environment that enables a student to perform at their best.
- To ensure that exams are carried out in accordance with the rules set out by the IEB Accommodations Implementation Manual.
- To be punctual for duty and reliable.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Good numeracy and literacy levels
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Readers/Scribes are required to support individual students by reading aloud and/or transcribing verbal answers to examination questions. Good spoken and written English are essential for this role, you will need to be able to write or type at speed and be confident
- Flexible approach to work
- Previous experience would be helpful although not essential, as training will be provided.
