Code Teacher & Lesson Architect
Think Camp is looking for a Code Teacher & Lesson Architect to join our tight-knit and high-performing team. We are a young, driven, highly successful startup based in Cape Town, South Africa. Our team is fully remote, yet we take great pride in creating a happy and energising work environment. Our online program, RocketHour, currently teaches code to over 300 kids in 8 different countries and we are growing faster than ever.
RocketHour classes are run as weekly, online, extra-murals. Each class contains between 5 and 8 students who are guided through a highly-structured programme by our exceptional teachers.
Who you are
We want you because you are an incredible teacher with an outgoing, playful personality. You are creative, articulate and thrive off creating a stimulating classroom environment. You think deeply about the lessons you teach. You are not afraid to try something new and when a lesson bombs out, your first thought is, “What could I have done differently?” You are appreciative of constructive feedback from those around you and you are not afraid to speak up if things could be improved. While you may have bucket-loads of teaching experience, you always feel that there is so much more to learn. You are excited to join a team that gives curriculum design and teaching the required thought and care.
What you’ll do
You will teach between 15 and 18 RocketHour classes per week. Lessons are exactly 1-hour in duration and run on weekdays from 15:00-18:30 and on Saturday mornings from 09:00-12:30 (All SAST). You will learn the most effective and engaging methods for teaching online and will become familiar with the RocketHour programme.
During weekday mornings, you will work flexi-time with our Lesson Development team, contributing to the ongoing creation and refinement of the RocketHour programme. You will learn and apply the most successful pedagogical design principles in a systematic process that produces A-Grade lessons.
