Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented intern to join our Audio Visual and Classroom Support team. This role offers valuable, hands-on experience in managing and supporting AV systems, classroom technologies, and theatre production environments. The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth operation of educational and event spaces while gaining exposure to a variety of cutting-edge technologies and practical skills in AV support and theatre technical operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Matric
  • Audio, Video, Live Production certification
  • A degree will be an added advantage

COMPETENCIES:

The strong candidate will have:

  • Basic understanding of AV systems, lighting, sound, and classroom technology.
  • Familiarity with AV tools, such as audio mixers, video switchers, and lighting controllers, is a plus.
  • Experience with multimedia platforms (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with technical mindset
  • Strong technical and organizational skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Aid in the setup and operation of AV systems for school-wide events, conferences, and meetings.
  • Assist with video production, including recording, editing, and live streaming.
  • Manage and maintain digital signage, LED screens, and scoreboards to ensure timely and accurate content.
  • Work with the theatre team to operate lighting, sound, and stage equipment during events.
  • Assist with stage setup, including rigging, prop placement, and other technical preparations.
  • Configure and troubleshoot classroom AV systems, including projectors, displays, microphones, and speakers.
  • Relocate, install, setup, and configure audio and visual equipment to support events.
  • Perform and support other tasks as identified by the Technology Manager.

School Hours

This is a 45-hour-per-week position and start time is 7:30
