The following position is available at St Mary’s DSG, Kloof, KwaZulu-Natal, a progressive and forward-thinking private girls’ school.
HIGH SCHOOL – BOARDING HOUSE MOTHER
January 2026
We seek a candidate who has exceptional interpersonal skills and a passion for the development of adolescents. The House Mother will act in loco parentis to all girls who are accommodated in the Boarding House and will assist in the daily routine of the Boarders, taking into account their academic, sporting, cultural and spiritual development.
Attributes of the successful candidate:
- Must have past experience as a House Mother and in working with adolescent girls.
- Must be passionate about girls’ development and create a warm and homely Boarding environment to enhance their well-being.
- Have an understanding of the unique time-demands inherent in a boarding environment.
- Be supportive of the Boarding Vision at St Mary’s DSG.
- Display qualities of integrity, responsibility and professionalism.
- Be able to uphold the ethos and values of the School and our Christian environment.
- Be computer literate with an understanding of current technology trends.
- Have excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Must have a driver’s licence and be able to assist with transporting Boarders when necessary.
