The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the School’s Strategic Plan by effectively executing the approved strategy, ensuring alignment with the School’s mission, vision, and values.
Vision and Educational Leadership:
- Inspire staff, pupils, and the broader community with a clear and compelling vision for the School’s future. Promote a culture of academic excellence, character development, holistic personal growth, and the development of 21st-century skills. Ensure strong pastoral care structures are in place to support students’ emotional, social, and moral well-being.
Operational and Administrative Oversight:
- Oversee the daily operations of the School, ensuring efficient and effective management. Promote professional development and a culture of continuous learning. Lead the recruitment and retention of high-calibre staff.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Maintain open, positive, and professional communication with all stakeholders, including staff, pupils, parents, alumni, and the wider community.
Marketing and Enrolment Support:
- Actively support and contribute to the School’s enrolment and marketing efforts.
Co-Curricular Involvement:
- Encourage and support active participation in a wide range of co-curricular activities, including adventure, sport, arts, and cultural programmes.
Requirements:
- A B.Ed or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or equivalent qualification
- A minimum of an Honours degree in Education
- Current SACE registration
- A clean criminal record
- Experience with the Independent Examination Board (IEB) curriculum is preferable
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Head or in a senior management position at a high school
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- Proven understanding of the financial and business complexities involved in running a school
- A passion for education and a commitment to the values of Stanford Lake College
