Head of Water Polo
We are looking for an authentic leader in the field who will mentor young men of calibre through sport. The right person will have a unique capacity to inspire boys and coaches through an exceptional work ethic, skill set and passion for water polo. If you are able to work in a team-focused environment within an independent all-boys school and are aligned with the values of our College, this position offers an exciting opportunity to genuinely influence the lives of generations of boys of the College.
The ideal candidate will:
- Continue to build the water polo programme and lead it into a new era.
- Prepare fixtures, venues, officials and support staff regarding game day fixtures against other schools.
- Together with the Head of High School Sport, arrange all aspects relating to attending/participating in tournaments.
- Create and develop our own water polo tournament.
- Train coaches and table officials as needed.
- Assist in finding suitable coaches to work within the water polo programme.
- Ensure the budget is well managed and the balls and equipment are looked after.
- Work with our Athlete Development Specialist to ensure players are well-conditioned to compete at the highest level.
- Facilitate the opportunity for our boys to be selected for regional and provincial teams.
- Coach a water polo team.
- Focus on water polo skills and assist in sports development during PE and HP lessons in the senior school.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification.
- Relevant Water Polo Coaching Course qualifications.
- At least 2 to 5 years of experience in the same or similar position.
- High Performance experience will be essential.
- Ability to teach in the senior school would be an added advantage.
