Full-time Head of the English Department & English Teacher – High School

Date of commencement – 1 January 2022

The ideal candidate should demonstrate an awareness of the centrality of language and of literature as tools for pupils to negotiate, understand and enrich their world. A wide-ranging reading history will be especially valued.

Requirements for the above post include ability and experience in IT integrated teaching, administrative skills and the ability to teach from Grade 8 to Grade 12. Experience with the teaching of Advanced Programme English and IEB experience will be an advantage but is not essential.

The candidate must have a proven track record comprising innovation and the ability to promote a creative, stimulating environment. The successful candidate will have strong emotional intelligence and be a visionary leader able to guide a team of dedicated and committed staff within the English department. Social transformation, social justice and diversity are pivotal to the teaching of English.

A university degree, teaching qualifications, SACE registration and relevant experience are prerequisites for this teaching position.
