Established in 1997, by Kgosi Mollwane Lebone Boikanyo Molotlegi, Lebone II – College of the Royal Bafokeng is a leading independent preparatory and secondary school for boys and girls from South Africa and the rest of Africa.

OUR CANDIDATE:
The Board of Governors is in search of a suitably qualified, dynamic educator who is a strong believer in the potential of every young person; who thrives on being innovative; who is excited to be involved in a school of the future; who will understand the dynamics of working in a community-based school with great aspirations.
The applicant for this position should have:
- 3 – 5 years proven track record in sport management
- Strong reputation in Provincial and National circles in at least one of the major sports offered at Lebone II College
- Strong planning, organisational and coordinating skill sets
- Strong collaborative skills, to develop and promote the ethos of the whole school
- Strategic vision and acumen
- Ability to develop/mentor/coach/manage staff and students, and monitor their performance
- Commitment to the values and ethos of Lebone II – College
- Strong communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
- The requisite academic qualifications (at least a Bachelor’s degree and SACE Registration Certificate).
Key Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Principal of the Upper School
- Responsible for all Upper School Sports Codes. Oversight of all sports fixtures, logistics and long-term planning of the
- Upper School Sports Codes.
- The successful candidate will coordinate meetings and work closely, meaningfully, and effectively with the senior management of the Upper School.
- Collaborate with the Lower School Head of Sports (under the guidance of the Lower School Principal) on all matters concerning sports.
- Effectively manage, co-ordinate, and facilitate all sporting codes, sports facilities, related services, and sporting activities at the College, with the input and collaboration of the Lower School Head of Sports and the Principal of the Lower School.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for the promotion of whole school optimum participation, full representation and maximizing the performance of all competitive sporting codes.
- Have full oversight of all permanent and locum sports coaches’ management and development.
- Prepare and submit an annual whole school sports budget, with the collaboration of the Lower School Head of Sports (under the guidance of the Lower School Principal), accounting for transport costs, tournament costs, the “greening” of sporting uniforms, external coach costs and national duty obligations (too name a few cost lines).
- Ensure that the correct sporting culture is established and promoted within our independent schooling community.
- Full accountability for the sports’ performance and growth to the School Executive team.
- Perform any other duties as determined necessary by the Principals of the Lower School, Upper School, and the Executive Head, within reason.
The successful candidate to commence duty in January 2025
