Owing to the retirement of the present Head, the Board of Governors invites applications from suitably qualified educationalists with exceptional and inspirational leadership ability for the above position which is available from Term 2 in 2021.
Key aspects of the position include:
The key purpose of this position is to fulfil the role of Head of the Primary School and have representation on the Board in relation to its decisions. As such, you shall have authority over the Foundation and Intermediate Phases, Heads of Administrative and Support functions, all other staff and organisations or structures involved in or associated with the school.
This is a senior leadership position that will require strategic leadership and thinking as you will be required to lead in stimulating the young minds, the worth and the value of todays and tomorrow’s women in leadership. You must be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of the opportunities and challenges of leading and managing a South African girls’ school in the 21st century in the context of transformation and diversity, and online learning.
You must be able to demonstrate:
A passion for education as a profession and a commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of the school
Progressive educational insights, reflecting a broad knowledge of modern and international trends in education
The ability to contribute to the development and implementation of strategic planning
The embracement of technology in education as a strategic imperative
Entrenching a strong performance culture and people management ability
Leading, guiding and supporting a diverse staffing complement
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
A sound business and financial management with a focus on future sustainability
A willingness for self-development to enhance leadership at the school
Requirements for this position include:
Be a South African citizen or hold permanent residence in South Africa
Relevant post graduate tertiary educational qualification supported by solid experience in a senior leadership position within an academic institution
SACE registration and at least 10 years of relevant teaching experience
Adherence to professional ethics and the maintenance of a professional school environment
Acknowledged academic standing
The ability to take dynamic and effective leadership decisions to manage staff and monitor performance
The development & implementation of school policy
Excellent planning, organising and administrative skills
Solid knowledge and experience of corporate governance principles
Strong financial acumen
A willingness to embrace, develop and support the cultural, extra-curricular activities and global education programme of the school
Excellent people and communication skills
