Head of Preparatory School

Requirements for this post:
- Suitable professional qualifications, preferably including a postgraduate qualification in Remedial education / Inclusive education and a qualification in Educational School Management.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a senior management position at Primary School level.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar inclusive educational environment.
- Experience in school leadership as Head, Deputy Head or Head of Department (preferably in independent education)
- A thorough knowledge of Primary School curricula
- An in-depth knowledge of the learning difficulties presenting in a diverse remedial school community, as well as the suitable interventions required to assist the learners to access the curriculum.
- Be fully conversant with current trends and developments in education.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, administrative, relevant technology, organisational, problem solving and decision making skills.
- Ability to lead and to work as part of a team.
- Passionate about working with young children.
- Be computer literate.
- Proven strengths in management, motivation, invitational and educational leadership, strategic planning, curriculum development and implementation, student assessment and support identification, and a demonstrated empathy for children with barriers to learning.
- Commitment to the ethos and mission/vision of the school.
- Understanding and experience of School administration and finances would be beneficial.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
- Ability to create an inclusive and supportive school environment (cultural competence)
- SACE registered.
