Head of marketing and communications

April 2025 or sooner

Position: Full time

The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Overall marketing strategy of the school aligned to the vision and mission of the school
  • Ensuring consistency in corporate identity and branding, for both internal and external material
  • Graphic design of all promotional marketing material and newsletters
  • Maintenance of the school website
  • Content creation and management of school social media pages aligned to the school’s Communication Strategy
  • Effective communication to parents, alumni and wider community across various channels
  • Ensuring there is a link between marketing and School Admissions
  • Budget creation and management
  • Driving alumni engagement and compiling quarterly alumni newsletter
  • Assist with the organising events such as Open Weekend, Alumni reunions, Golf Days, Gala Dinners etc.
  • Managing all marketing aspects of external events, including the Wik Triathlon and Wolkberg Trail Run, encompassing social media management, promotional gift design, and flyer creation.
  • Updating PR-related policies

Requirements:

  • Proven track record within a similar marketing environment
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Be a real people’s person able to build and develop relationships with various stakeholders
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and website maintenance
  • Ability to create engaging media content
  • Availability to attend functions, expos, marketing trips and other school events
  • Presentation skills
  • Skilled in design programmes such as InDesign, Illustrator or Corel Draw
