Head of Finance and Operations
St Cyprian’s School seeks to appoint a Head of Finance and Operations to its team from 1 June 2021 (starting date negotiable).
The ideal candidate, who reports to the Principal, will be a chartered accountant, solutions oriented, inventive in adopting best-practice processes, have more than 10 years’ business experience at a senior level as a financial manager or director, and have a proven track record in small to medium enterprises as a leader of various operational processes in an organization.
The role of the Head of Finance and Operations includes:
- Implementation and oversight of all financial management relating to the school and its various entities
- Oversight of legal, statutory and risk and compliance processes
- Oversight of outsourced services and providers as well as procurement processes
- Management of finance team and relationship with auditors and other external providers and/or specialists
- Oversight and direct reporting line into finance and operations of ancillary processes, including catering and estate management.
The successful candidate will:
- Have an ethical, professional approach to business and the rules and regulations that govern the accounting and reporting sector as well as conduct themselves in accordance with the school’s values
- Have strong financial and information technology skills
- Be able to make well considered decisions and work independently
- Have strong organizational, planning and time management skills
- Be experienced in leading teams and creating a productive and happy work environment
- Be a good communicator and work alongside a variety of stakeholders including the Principal, senior management team, Council, parent community, and staff
- Interrogate and implement best practices to benefit school, staff and parent body
- Actively contribute to the advancement of the school’s vision and values.
