GRADES 7 – 12

Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals for the above post to commence in January 2026 or negotiable as may be required.

Selection criteria include:

  • a relevant teaching qualification from a recognised institution.
  • comprehensive teaching experience, which includes enquiry-based learning.
  • detailed understanding of the IEB syllabus and assessment frameworks to a matric level.
  • experience as a national marker or senior marker for Grade 12 final examinations.
  • an excellent all-round knowledge of Mathematics and Further Studies Mathematics.
  • a proven record of innovation, commitment, and professionalism to the teaching profession and the teaching of the subject.
  • the willingness to embrace rapid changes in education.
  • an interest in integrating ITC into your teaching and learning as Brescia House School is a Microsoft Showcase School.
  • proof of registration with SACE.

Job responsibilities include:

  • being an active and innovative member of the teaching body of the High School, which includes collaboration and working together with the Mathematics Literacy department.
  • teaching Mathematics from Grade 7 to Grade 12 learners.
  • participation in co-curricular activities and events across the High School.
  • the ability to attend conferences, organise workshops and meetings.
  • developing a passion for Mathematics among learners at every opportunity.
  • organising field trips, tours and accompanying groups.
  • demonstrating the full awareness of educational/pedagogical developments regarding both subject matter and curriculum development.
  • effective leadership and management of the team and department, with overall responsibility for the administration of the subject.
