Head of Department Information Technology and CAT

Grades 8 – 12

The position will commence 1 January 2023

The position is full-time and the successful candidate would report to the Head of Academics

The minimum requirement for the post are:

  • An appropriate degree
  • proof of registration with SACE;
  • a minimum of 5 years teaching experience teaching Information Technology from Grades 10-12, preferably within the IEB syllabus;
  • Competency in presenting an IT skills course to Grade 8 and 9 pupils;
  • good all-round knowledge of Information Technology with a passion for the subject;
  • proficiency in Java programming;
  • network management experience would be advantageous;

The successful applicant will:

  • assist learners and staff with technology –related problems
  • trouble shoot the IT infrastructure
  • aid in desktop support when needed
  • load assessments onto e-readers
  • assist with the onboarding and training of new staff
  • be willing to be part of the extra-curricular program;
  • be willing to do boarding duties
  • have the ability to be assertive but flexible and to pay attention to detail;
  • embrace cognitive education and appropriate use of technology in the classroom;
  • be able to understand and be committed to Stanford Lake College’s values and ethos;
  • be self-starter who can manage themselves and work independently
  • possess a strongly driven work ethic;
  • have excellent interpersonal skills with colleagues, students and parents;
  • have good organisational and administrative skills;
