The Position – A vacancy on the permanent, full-time staff has arisen in respect of Head of Department, French. The successful applicant is ideally expected to be able to take up the post from beginning of the 3rd Term 2021.
The position is an opportunity for a talented, creative, enthusiastic and qualified French teacher. The position would report to the Director of Academics.
The responsibilities of the post are focused on:
Qualifications and Experience – the successful candidate will be in possession of a relevant degree, have a professional teaching qualification (HDE/UK teaching certification – Cambridge, Pearson, OCR – Introductory/Advanced Courses), DALF or C2 equivalent French language certification and be SACE registered as well as being experienced in teaching French from Grade 8-12, and another language. A deep understanding of the assessment requirements at Grade 12 level in the IEB.
Participate in extracurricular activities for example sporting, tutoring, house duties. Other duties include motivation and mentoring teachers within the department, budgets within the department, manage departmental staff, oversee the smooth running of the department.
