Head of Department for Discipline
As the HOD Discipline you will be required to effectively deal with learner discipline issues that arise throughout grades 1-7
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, review, refine and implement standard operating procedures for discipline at the school in line with GDE and school principles
- Develop, review, refine and implement substance abuse standard operating procedures for substance abuse in line with GDE and school principles
- Communicate standard operating procedures to staff, students and learners
- Train office staff and teachers in support required in discipline process
- Liaise with and instruct staff regarding admin support as needed
- Records and provide feedback as required
- Flag, communicate and discuss patterns of behaviours in students with School Management Team
- Devise, implement and record remediation plans for learners and teachers as required with stakeholders
- Feedback remediation plans to principal/ deputy principal as required
- Host teacher meetings as required
- Hold class visits relating to discipline
- Mentor teachers on discipline matters and identify training needs

Requirements
- Bed degree/ PGCE in education with permanent SACE and a clear criminal record
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in primary school teaching (preferably with LSEN learners)
- Proven experience in leadership within an educational setting
- Ability to work collaboratively with others
