Christian Brothers’ College Boksburg is a Premier Independent Boys’ School on the East Rand of Johannesburg. The College is seeking services of an outstanding and visionary educator to join our team as the High School Head of Department: Business Studies. This position offers a unique opportunity to build upon the exceptional foundation of Business Studies excellence that has been achieved at our school and to continue fostering innovation in the teaching and learning of Business Studies.
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic person of integrity and vision with strong interpersonal skills, and have the following:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies, Education, or a related field;
- SACE registration;
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching IEB Business Studies at Grade 12 level, with a track record of achieving exceptional results.
- Competence in terms of computer literacy with Google Apps particularly Google Classroom;
- A commitment to an exceptional standard of teaching and learning;
- The ability to understand, identify and contribute to the Catholic ethos and the values of the school
Additional performance-related goals and responsibilities include the following:
- Lead the Business Studies department in achieving exceptional results;
- The utilisation of data-driven insights and pedagogical strategies to continually enhance student achievement and engagement;
- Drive the development of an innovative and forward-thinking curriculum that aligns with global best practices and embraces new methodologies, technologies, and approaches to ensure learners’ mastery and deep understanding of business concepts;
- Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork within the Business Studies department;
- Encourage collaboration with other departments to explore interdisciplinary connections and enhance learners’ business literacy across various subjects;
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Business Studies teachers, promoting continuous professional development and encouraging the exploration of innovative teaching strategies, assessment methods, and the integration of technology in business instruction;
- Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment where learners are motivated to become confident, independent thinkers and problem solvers;
- Foster a growth mind-set and support learners in embracing challenges and developing a deep appreciation for the beauty and relevance of business;
- Cultivate strong partnerships with parents, learners, and stakeholders to foster a collaborative approach to business education through excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills:
- Actively participate in local and national business education networks, sharing expertise and contributing to the broader educational community.
