Grade 8-12 Social Sciences & Geography
from 1 January 2021 or sooner by mutual agreement
the requisite professional qualifications; minimum BEd or BSc degree with PGCE.
willing to be involved in the extra-curricular activities of the school;
able and willing to uphold the Christian ethos, mission and values of the school;
passion & enthusiasm for the subject and the profession;
ability to interact appropriately with staff, parents, scholars and our broader community,
evidence of clearance with the Child Protection Act and Sexual Offences Register, or willingness to obtain such clearance.
Highly recommended, desirable requirements:
a sound knowledge of the relevant IEB curricula and at least 3 years’ experience teaching according to IEB SAG’s, including teaching at Grade 12 level;
ability to teach another subject in addition to Social Sciences and Geography;
an effective and innovative approach to teaching with the ability to motivate scholar participation;
comfortable using electronic / digital technology to support learning;
knowledge of how to use a broad range of thinking skills in the classroom.
an understanding of and experience of positive education rooted in school practice.
proven ability to contribute in a management or leadership role would be a distinct advantage.
