Broadacres Academy Preparatory is looking to employ a Music teacher for the Senior Preparatory Phase. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the Director of Music as well as the High School Music teacher to deliver an exciting and inspiring Music curriculum through the Kodaly approach of Music education. SPECIFIC AREAS OF FOCUS: GRADE 4 – 6 MUSIC TEACHER

CONTRACT TYPE: PERMANENT, FULL TIME

STARTING DATE: 6 JANUARY 2023

THE SUITABLE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE AS A MINIMUM:

  • appropriate Music/Education qualification
  • training in the Kodaly approach and methodology or willingness to be trained in the Kodaly method
  • SACE registration
  • ability to teach and conduct a choir
  • motivate students to study a musical instrument as a co-curricular activity
  • Prepare pupils for participation in Eisteddfods, Soirees, assemblies, and other events
  • Assist with school productions
  • computer literacy with specific competency in being creative with using online teaching platforms like Microsoft Teams and Zoom
  • ability to work effectively as a team member, enthusiasm and flexibility
  • understanding of 21st-century learning and constructivist teaching methodology
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • energy, self-motivation and initiative.
