Grade 4 -6 InterSen Mathematics Subject Teacher

Key purpose of the job

• Intermediate Phase trained teacher to work as subject specialist with a focus on Mathematics education.

Minimum requirements

Required Education and Experience:

• South African resident / valid work permit.
• 4-year Bachelor of Education degree or related qualification.
• Current SACE registration.
• Fluent in the Language of Learning and Teaching (English).
• Able to speak at least one other official language.
• Broad knowledge of and interest in the development and education of children.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• At least 1- year teaching experience in subject specialization and phase.
• Newly-qualified teachers will be considered if they have at least 1-year experience working at a school.

COMPETENCIES:

Technical competencies

• Intermediate computer skills: MS office – Word; Excel; Powerpoint; Outlook express or equivalent.
• Good understanding and application of school software programmes – Edupac and Knowledge Network (or must be willing to be trained)
• Good understanding of the use of a variety of technologies in the classroom – smart boards; tablets (Keeps up to date)
• Competent internet use/searches
