Micklefield School invites suitable candidates to apply for the position of

Grade 00 Teaching Assistant.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Classroom Assistant to join our team in supporting the development and education of young girls in Grade 00. The ideal candidate must possess a deep love for working with children aged 4 turning 5 and demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering their growth during these formative years.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Provide support to the teacher in daily classroom activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all children
  • Assist in the preparation, implementation and clean-up of educational activities
  • Foster cognitive, social, and emotional development of the children
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and children, ensuring clear and positive interactions
  • Assist in Aftercare Supervision

Candidates should have the following skills and attributes:

  • Ability to engage with children in a warm, patient, and encouraging manner
  • Ability to infuse the learning environment with energy and enthusiasm, creating a positive and engaging atmosphere for young children
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with mentor teacher, colleagues and parents, contributing to a positive and supportive school community
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in computer literacy
  • Prior experience in an early childhood education setting
  • Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail in managing classroom resources and activities
