Micklefield School invites suitable candidates to apply for the position of
Grade 00 Teaching Assistant.
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Classroom Assistant to join our team in supporting the development and education of young girls in Grade 00. The ideal candidate must possess a deep love for working with children aged 4 turning 5 and demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering their growth during these formative years.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Provide support to the teacher in daily classroom activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all children
- Assist in the preparation, implementation and clean-up of educational activities
- Foster cognitive, social, and emotional development of the children
- Maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and children, ensuring clear and positive interactions
- Assist in Aftercare Supervision
Candidates should have the following skills and attributes:
- Ability to engage with children in a warm, patient, and encouraging manner
- Ability to infuse the learning environment with energy and enthusiasm, creating a positive and engaging atmosphere for young children
- Ability to collaborate effectively with mentor teacher, colleagues and parents, contributing to a positive and supportive school community
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in computer literacy
- Prior experience in an early childhood education setting
- Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail in managing classroom resources and activities
