Sacred Heart College is a Marist Brothers school founded in 1889. The College is situated in Observatory, Johannesburg. Applications are invited for the following teaching position starting on 1 May 2021.
GRADE 10-12 GEOGRAPHY AND GRADE 8, 9 SOCIAL SCIENCES
We seek to employ a person who:
has an innovative and progressive approach to teaching GRADE 10-12 Geography and Grade 7-9 Social Sciences curriculum;
is able to integrate the use of ICT in the classroom;
has an understanding of the challenges of teaching children across a wide range of abilities;
has the vision to identify and take advantage of the opportunities offered by being part of an integrate project-based learning curriculum;
is willing to initiate and to participate in field trip excursions;
has Grade 12 Geography teaching experience preferably within the IEB context;
is able to work collaboratively in Social Sciences, as well as independently in Geography;
is prepared to be part of a mentoring programme, if necessary and
be able to understand and be committed to the Marist ethos and mission of the College.
